If you have an anti-virus, I suggest you make sure it has the latest virus definitions and run it. If you don’t have one, many people here swear by AVG (it’s free).





I also suggest you download Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S%26amp;D (they’re free), install them, update them and run them. If any of the above don't seem to be able to get rid of everything it reports finding, try running it again, this time in Safe Mode. Safe Mode often prevents the malware from running and protecting itself.





Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.





To get into Safe Mode:





1. Log out and reboot your machine.


2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.


3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.


4. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance. Log in as Administrator. Administrator often has no password.


5. When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.





Update and run them all regularly.

Use protection,


your computer will thank you.
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to the processes tab


2. Look for svchost.exe under the image name. There will be many but look for the ones which have your username under the username


3. Press DEL to kill these files. It will give you a warning, Press Yes


4. Repeat for more svchost.exe files with your username and repeat. Do not kill svchost.exe with system, local service or network service!


5. Now open My Computer


6. In the address bar, type “C:\heap41a” and press enter


7. Delete all the files here


8. Now go to start -%26gt; Run and type “Regedit”


9. Go to the menu EDIT –%26gt; FIND


10. Type “heap41a” here and press enter


11. You will get something like this “[winlogon] C:\heap41a\svchost.exe C:\heap(some number)\std.txt


”


12. Press DEL. It will ask “Are you sure you want to delete this value”, click “Yes”


13. Now close the registry editor
