Boric acid is the best solution to insects around the house. It can be found in true valve, shoppers drug mart and most drug stores. MAke sure you gee the powder version of it. You sprinkle this stuff around and work it into the fibers of your carpet and the instects will get it stuck on there legs and bring it to their dens. This stuff will dehydrate and kill the entire colony in a few weeks try it I used it for cockroaches and it takes time but it is very effective if used properly.
